The Indian High School, Oud Metha,smashes through the CBSE ClusterBadminton Championship 2024

In a ground-breaking set of events, The Indian High School, Oud Metha, won three awards in badminton at the CBSE Cluster Badminton Championship 2024 hosted by The Indian Academy, Dubai, and St. Joseph School, Abu Dhabi. It was an eventful championship as the athletes secured bronze in the U-14 girls’, U-14 boys’, and U-19 girls’ categories.

The school’s U-14 girls’ team, featuring Lakshika Jain (grade 8 I), Srinidhi Palaniappan (grade 8 C), Devi Ganesh (grade 5 I), and Saniha Ashish Ellengical (grade 8 I), fought valiantly to secure third place. Similarly, the U-14 boys’ team, composed of Yodh Yogish Soppin (grade 8 J), Sehith Shiv (grade 5 N), Ayyan Mohammad (grade 5 X), and Sadhil Rajan (grade 7 X), showed immense dedication to clinch the bronze.

In the U-19 girls’ category, Nidhi Bellad (grade 11 C) and Nitika Iyyappan (grade 9 B) demonstrated great skill in earning their spot on the podium, a third-place finish held at St. Joseph School, Abu Dhabi.

 

Despite a tough game with more than 50 teams overall, the badminton players shone brightly at the event. Their victory is a pure reflection of grit, hard work, and sportsmanship, an inherent part of the ethos at The Indian High School, Oud Metha.
