The Indian High School, Oud Metha Scripts a Winning Gambit at the CBSE UAE Cluster Chess Championship 2024

The Indian High School, Oud Metha, distinguished itself by winning three medals at the CBSE Cluster Chess Championship 2024. The tournament featured fierce competition among over 40 teams. The school’s teams secured silver medals in the boys’ U-11 and U-19 categories, while the U-11 girls’ team secured a bronze medal. What made the occasion more fulfilling was that they also qualified for the upcoming CBSE Nationals in India.
The boys U-11 team, comprising Narain Karthik Kamalakannan (grade 5 Y) earned a silver medal. The impressive skills were instrumental in securing their place among the top contenders in a highly competitive field.
Similarly, the boys U-19 team, featuring Arjun Fenu (grade 12 G), Arnab Jena (grade 10 M), Afraz Mohammed Raef (grade 11 J), and Neel Rajesh Shah (grade 12 J) also secured silver – demonstrating remarkable strategic thinking and composure under pressure, contributing to their success at this prestigious event.
Additionally, the girls U-11 team consisting of Tivisha Gupta (grade 5 I), and Sai Deeksha R (grade 5 L) secured a bronze medal.
