The creative arts engage students across all domains – cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical. At IHS, creative arts (fine arts, drama, music, movement) have always been an integral part of the curriculum. We weave the arts into our core classroom curricula as well as teach specific artistic skills and abilities. Various programmes like art exhibitions, Talent’s Day, House Day, Photography club, etc hone students’ creativity skills.

In Visual Arts, students develop knowledge and understanding, skills, values, and attitudes in Making and Appreciating by engaging with the concepts of artists, artworks, the audience, and the world.

In making they learn how they can investigate the world through selected subject matter (eg people, objects, places, and spaces) and work with the forms (eg painting, drawing, 3D art eg clay modeling) in expressive ways.

While these might not develop into lifelong professions, in these areas of knowledge, students learn to make critical judgments as they develop aesthetic perception by interacting with works of art and becoming knowledgeable about the history and world culture.
